Kyle Caudill, 6-10 SO C Brea (Calif.) High, is one of the elite big men in the west for the class of 2011. A true, low-post center, Caudill has shown substantial improvement in the last year. He's made significant strides in his overall skill level and he's also obviously been working hard on his body. Caudill is moving much better now than he did a year ago and he's becoming a legitimate low-post scoring option. He has a very good feel for the game, he's a good passer and he's developed a very nice left hand.

I spoke with Caudill recently and asked about the schools that have been showing interest in him.

"I just got off the phone with Coach Pera from Arizona State," said Caudill. "I'm going to take an unofficial visit to UCLA on May 13th. I like Coach Capel at Oklahoma. I heard from Coach Montgomery at Cal a few days ago. Wake Forest has shown interest and I just started hearing a bit from Florida. Stanford was supposed to come watch me recently, but there was a scheduling mix-up. I've also been hearing from Oregon State."

I asked Caudill if any schools have extended scholarship offers.

"Arizona State, USC and Oregon State have offered," said Caudill.

Caudill talked a little about the issues that will be important to him when he chooses a school.

"I want to go someplace where I can grow and mature as a player," said Caudill. "Also, someplace where there is a chance to compete for a national title."

I asked Caudill if he has given any thought to when he might make his decision.

"I think I'll take my time, but I definitely want to do it before my senior year," said Caudill.

Caudill said he currently has a 3.9 GPA.
