Brandon Willis, Scout.com four-star defensive tackle from Duncan-Byrnes, South Caronia, talked about his summer plans and the conclusion of spring practice.

"Spring training went really good," said the 6-4, 225-pound Willis. "We finished up last Thursday. I thought overall everything went really good. I thought I had a pretty good spring. I basically wanted to improve my first three steps, my speed and my hands. I wanted to improve my technique as well. I feel like I really did improve those areas."

Willis will hit the road next week and plans to stay very busy during the summer months.

"In a couple of weeks I am going to California," he said. "I think I am going to visit Cal and UCLA. I may just visit Cal though. I know I am going to Florida State. I might be going up to North Carolina at some point. This Sunday I am going to Tennessee and will attend their camp."

Numerous schools are keeping their name in the forefront for the elite playmaker. The same schools are early favorites, according to Willis.

"Right now I would say the schools coming at me the hardest are Florida State, Cal, Florida, USC, Tennessee, LSU and UCLA," Willis said. "Those are really the ones that are recruiting me the most."

"The reason I like those schools is because they all have a lot of experience at the position I play. I mean you have coaches like coach [Odell] Haggins at Florida State, coach [John] Blake at UNC and Coach O [Ed Orgeron] at Tennessee."

"Those schools and the other schools I am considering all have great defensive line coaches. I just want to be at a program where I can excel. Those schools can coach me to be the best I can be."

The summer visits will have a huge impact on the final outcome of Willis' decision.

"I might make a decision during the middle of the season," he said. "I am going to look at the campuses and see how to get around. I want to get a feel for those particular places. I have been to those schools before and just want to get a better feel of the campuses."
