Did He Re-Commit?

If you remember, Alex Ghebreselassie recently said he could still take a trip to Oklahoma. It all depended on his official visit to UCLA. So, how'd it go this weekend?

Alex Ghebreselassie, 6-3, 180, Chula Vista (Calif.) Bonita Vista, took his official visit to UCLA this weekend.

Remember, recently Ghebreselassie said he was more or less still committed to UCLA, but if he had a good official visit he'd re-commit and then not take his trip to Oklahoma.

Ghebreselassie said that the UCLA trip was, in fact, good. "It was really good. I enjoyed it a lot."

Was it good enough to keep him from taking a trip to Oklahoma? "I told them today. I told the coaches that I was sticking with my commitment and cancelling my trip to Oklahoma."

Ghebreselassie said he wanted to hear about the offense UCLA will run, and he was happy with what he heard. "I sat down with coach Dorrell and Embree," he said. "And we talked about the offense. They're going to be running the west coast offense. Overall, it was great to meet the coaches for the first time in person. I really like coach Dorrell. And coach Embree, he was the coach recruiting me at Colorado. He has a lot of experience. He played in the NFL He's a player's coach and is easy to talk to. He's a guy you want to be your position coach."

When asked if he had heard if any other recruits had committed on the weekend, Ghebreselassie said, "I don't know, really. I didn't talk to all of them. I talked to a few. I know Noah Smith really liked it. Chadd Evans was already committed. The guy from St. Louis (Aaron Whittington), I know he really liked it, too."
