James Setting Up Official Visits

Corona (Calif.) running back Jordon James has set four of his official visits for the fall, and names his top seven schools, while also setting up an unofficial visit to a Pac-10 school this week...

Corona (Calif.) running back Jordon James, ranked eighth nationally by Scout.com, is beginning to get his official visits lined up for the fall.

"I have four official visits set up already," said James. "I'm going to Florida on September 19th, Notre Dame on October 17th, Arizona on November 7th and UCLA on November 21st (when the Bruins host Arizona State)."

James said he was leaving the fifth visit open, with three Pac-10 schools in the running for the final trip.

"My fifth trip is between Washington, Stanford and Cal," said James.

James also said the four schools he's visiting, plus the other three he's considering for his final trip, amounted to his top seven schools.

"There isn't a leader from there either," said James. "Those seven schools are all even."

He will be busy in the next few weeks, with five unofficial visits in the works before his season starts.

"I'm taking unofficials to Arizona, Cal, Florida and maybe Stanford," said James.

And he'll start the unofficial trips this week when he visits Westwood.

"Me, my mom, my brother (Drew James, a 2012 prospect who camped at UCLA last weekend), and another player on my team, Chidera Uzo-Direbe (a 6-4, 227-pounder who also camped at UCLA), are going to UCLA on the 19th (Friday), for an unofficial visit," said James.

James has done numerous camps this spring, including a standout performance at the Scout.com Combine late last month, but he won't be doing any team camps this summer.

Back from an arm injury that cost him half of his junior season, James' focus is on Corona.

"I'm just doing passing leagues this summer," said James.

James said he'd be announcing his decision on January 2nd at the UnderArmour All-America Game in Orlando.
