The defensive tackle prospect from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jared Naylor, gushed about his trip to UCLA. When talking about his recruiting situation, he said he was really looking forward to an upcoming meeting...
Jared Naylor, 6-4, 260, 4.9, Tulsa (Okla.) Union, spent the past weekend with three fellow Tulsa high school players on their official visit to UCLA. Naylor came away impressed with the school and the facilities.
Did he verbally commit to UCLA? "No, I didn't," Naylor said. He did say, though, the trip helped enhance his opinion of UCLA. "It was pretty awesome. But I had a good idea it was going to be pretty cool."
Asked what he did on the trip, Naylor joked, "I just ate a whole lot. The food was incredible. We went to some really nice restaurants. We stayed at the Century Plaza too. That was real nice." One of the highlights of the trip was going out to the Rose Bowl. "It was awesome to see that place."
Rodney Leisle hosted him, with a little help from Ryan Boschetti. "They were real cool. We had a great time."
Naylor said he enjoyed meeting with head coach Karl Dorrell. Naylor said, "He has the program going in the right direction." Naylor also expressed again how happy he was that defensive line coach Don Johnson was retained.
As reported earlier by BRO, Naylor has been to California before and likes it quite a bit. His mother (Michelle) has a sister who lives with her family in Southern California. They got the opportunity on the trip to have a bit of a family visit too. "Yeah, we got to see my aunt for a little bit."
It looks like UCLA will be making in-home visits to the Oklahoma recruits next week.
Asked if Naylor was done with his visits or if he might take anymore, he said, "I'm not sure, but I am looking forward to the in-house visit with the UCLA coaches."
