Keyes Will Wait to Announce

Dennis Keyes, the standout prospect from Van Nuys Birmingham, will wait to announce his decision. But he talks more about the two schools he's considering and provides some hints about where he possibly could be going...

Dennis Keyes, 6-1, 190, Van Nuys (Calif.) Birmingham, said that he's made his decision on what school he'll attend, but he wants to sit on it for another week before announcing publicly.

"I know where I'm going. I've made a decision, but I don't want to say yet," Keyes said.

Why the secrecy? Well, the young man makes a great deal of sense in his reasoning. "I just want to wait a little longer. I want to make sure there is no possibility that I'm going to change my mind before I tell everyone. I just want to make sure it's right before I let everyone know. That I'm absolutely 100% sure about my decision. Once I do it, I want to be able to keep my word and not change my mind."

Keyes said that the two schools he was deciding between are UCLA and California, and that he's informed both coaching staffs of his decision. "Yes, I've told them. They know," he said.

He said he hadn't spoken with UCLA since his official visit and he talked to Cal earlier this week.

Keyes said he'll "most likely" announce his decision in a week.
