A Decision is Imminent

The linebacker/defensive end prospect from Oakland, Williams Snead, is getting down to making a decision between two schools, and with continual contact from the coaches, he tells us the decision is difficult one...

William Snead, 6-4, 215, Oakland (Calif.) Skyline, has pretty much narrowed his choices of schools down to a final two – UCLA and Cal. Now he is trying to sort out which school will be the best place for him. Both schools are recruiting Snead for the SAM linebacker position.

Snead had been looking at Cal, UCLA and Arizona State, but he said things have tightened up a bit. "It's mostly between Cal and UCLA," Snead said. "Last week coach Tedford and coach Kerr were in for a visit. The week before last coach Dorrell came in for a visit. All those visits were good. I obtained a lot of good information. Coach Dorrell seems like a pretty good guy. He is really concentrating on improving the team."

Is a decision imminent? "It should be very, very soon, but it is pretty close between the schools. Where I am in terms of being recruited by each school and what they have already at the position, it is nearly the exact same. It is also hard to make a decision based just on academics because they are both really good schools."

Snead has been keeping in contact with coaches from both schools regularly. He said he seems to come up with more questions as he gets closer to a decision. "I spoke with both coaches today (Monday). I just got off the phone with coach Tedford, and I spoke with coach Kerr earlier."

As the pressure is mounting to make a decision, Snead has been working off some of that pressure on the basketball court. He is keeping in shape starting at center on the Skyline basketball team. "It's going pretty good. We had a pretty good pre-season. So far we are 1-1 in our league."

BRO will be keeping in touch with Snead throughout the week.
