Shaw Talks of Unofficial to UCLA

Palmdale (Calif.) High's Joshua Shaw, the #13-ranked cornerback prospect in the country, took an unofficial visit to UCLA on Sunday, including a Bruin practice, and talks about the change to his list of favorite schools...

Palmdale (Calif.) cornerback Joshua Shaw (6-2, 195), has already taken two official visits and has three more coming up in October and November.

After taking visits the last two weekends, to Ohio State and Florida respectively, Shaw had a more chill weekend, but did find time to take an unofficial trip.

"I just was at UCLA," said Shaw. "I went up there for an unofficial visit. I was there for like five hours."

Shaw said the visit went well for him.

"My mom and dad went with me and Coach (Rick) Neuheisel gave us a personal tour. We toured the facilities and everything. I also talked with Coach (Chuck) Bullough and Coach (Carnell) Lake. We also went to practice today."

Shaw said that the Bruins are right back in the hunt for him and he's planning to take in a game at the Rose Bowl next month.

"UCLA is still in the mix for me," said Shaw. "I'll be there on October 10th (for the Oregon game)."

Shaw was initially planning to visit LSU that weekend, but has since removed the Tigers from his consideration.

"I've dropped LSU off my list," said Shaw.

Instead, he's planning a visit to Big Ten country.

"I'll be going to Michigan on November 21st," said Shaw.

With the Wolverines now in the mix, Shaw said he's focusing on seven schools.

"It's the five schools for official visits (Florida, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and Oklahoma) and USC and UCLA," said Shaw.

Shaw and Palmdale are 1-2 so far and face Lancaster this weekend.
