"It was really good and a lot of fun," said Tanigawa. "I've been to Nebraska to visit my grandma when I was little, but this was my first time going to the school. It was great there. I talked a lot with Coach (Marvin) Sanders and Coach (Barry) Cotton and also talked with Coach (Bo) Pelini too. They were all really cool. They really do a great job in how they run everything there."
Tanigawa said most schools envision him playing inside, a change from his tackle spot for the Cubs.
"They like me either as a guard or center, but probably more as a center," said Tanigawa.
Tanigawa will now take visits to Arizona State this weekend, when the Sun Devils face Oregon State and then to Washington in October.
"I'm also still hearing from Cal, UCLA and Arizona," said Tanigawa. "Coach (Rick) Neuheisel was at our game to watch his son (Jerry, the Loyola quarterback) and (offensive line coach) Palcic was there as well. I may trip to UCLA if they offer me."
Tanigawa has a time frame in mind too.
"I want to decide before Halloween so it would be the week after I visit Washington. I just want to get it done and have a school of my own," said Tanigawa.
Academically, he has a 2.7 GPA and scored a 1750 on the SAT. Loyola is off this week and returns to action to face Valencia next week.
