Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral athlete Anthony Jefferson took his first official visit last weekend, tripping up to Oregon to see their rout of California.

"It was a great trip, everyone was real friendly and everyone just showed me a great time on the visit," said Jefferson. "The coaches were really cool. They want me as a receiver and I pretty much talked with the whole coaching staff, about that. Everyone in the town, everything, they're in to Oregon. Everyone just loved Oregon football, and the Oregon Ducks in general. The way the crowd was before the game, I'd never seen that. Those two things really stood out to me. They probably have one of the best facilities I've seen for a college," said Jefferson. "They showed me a lot of their state-of-the-art stuff and their brand new, basketball arena they're building. A lot is going on. The newest things are their high tech facilities. They've always been in the mix, but just going in and seeing the school, they're definitely in consideration."

Jefferson's next visit, and only other scheduled visit, comes this weekend.

"My only visit set up now is Cal this weekend for SC," said Jefferson. "And I'm definitely considering Notre Dame and Oklahoma."

Jefferson said the two Los Angeles schools are very much in the mix for him, he's just not planning visits there.

"Of course, they are both still on my radar, but the main reason why I'm not visiting them is because I just want to make sure I can check out every school I can," said Jefferson.

Jefferson said that two in-state schools, though, are doing the most recruiting of him.

"Cal and UCLA are recruiting me the hardest," said Jefferson. "I'm pretty wide open right now. I'm probably going to decide after my trips are all done."

Through three games, Jefferson has 315 yards and seven touchdowns. He's been selected to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl as well.

"I think I've not really made an impact on defense, because I haven't been playing there as much, so I'm making a big impact on offense," said Jefferson.

This weekend, Cathedral faces Eagle Rock.
