Friday Prospect Preview: Week 3

Crenshaw-Culver City headline the list of games this weekend involving UCLA commits and targets in Week Four of the prep football season...

Game of the Week: Crenshaw at Culver City
These two teams have had some good games over the year, and two of the best linebackers in the West face off when Crenshaw's Hayes Pullard, who will play both ways, goes against Victor Burnett from Culver City, who's a two-way player as well. Crenshaw is led by junior back DeAnthony Thomas while Culver City's offense is pace by Marquel Carter.

Danville Monte Vista at Livermore
Brent Nottingham is off to an excellent start, with 348 yards a game and four touchdowns a game, and is coming off a 5-touchdown, 395 yard performance. Livermore is down this year, so Nottingham should be able to have a big game before heading over to Stanford Stadium to watch UCLA play tomorrow.

Encinitas La Costa Canyon at Rancho Buena Vista
Five-star receiver Kenny Stills looks to have a big game after having a relatively quiet game against Santa Margarita last week. Two of the better underclassmen in the state also will be on hand, with La Costa Canyon's Ian Seau (2011) and Grant Bays for Rancho Buena Vista (2012). Both have famous uncle's, with Seau the nephew of Junior Seau and Bays the nephew of UCLA Hall of Famer Randy Cross.

Ontario Colony at Kaiser
There will be speed and talent on the field when Colony, behind four-star Utah commit Kenneth Scott and cornerback Jared Bell take on Kaiser, with USC commit Anthony Brown and UCLA target Josh Shirley, who played linebacker for the first time last weekend and had a stellar showing.

El Dorado at Tesoro
One of UCLA's main offensive line targets, Sil Ajawara, from Tesoro will take on another UCLA recruit who the Bruin staff is evaluating, Derek Stickney of El Dorado. El Dorado also features 2011 running back Seth Davis, who played at Tesoro a year ago.

Fresno Edison at Clovis Buchanan
The Tigers, led by two UCLA commits Wesley Flowers and Tevin McDonald, look to stay unbeaten against Buchanan, who's paced by under-the-radar quarterback Lance Orender.

Servite at Chaparral
Servite looks to bounce back from their loss to Edison a week ago when Kirifi Taula and the Friars go at it with Inland Empire program Chaparral.  Taula will be charged with chasing down Air Force commit Jonathan Diaz, Chaparral's running back.

Poway at Chula Vista Eastlake
UCLA commit Tony Jefferson and Eastlake tries extend their winning streak to three games when they host Poway in non-league action.

Bellevue vs. Mercer Island
Bellevue looks to extend their streak to 16 wins over Washington opponents when they face Mercer Island in KingCo play.

Brookhaven (Ohio) vs. Linden-McKinley
New UCLA commit Derrick Bryant face Linden-McKinley in league play.

Orchard Lake St. Mary Prep vs. Novi Detroit Catholic Central
UCLA pledge Earnest Thomas and OLSMP take on Novi Detroit Catholic Central in Sunday afternoon action.

Other UCLA Offers in Action
La Canada St. Francis behind Dietrich Riley will take on Oxnard Rio Mesa. Palmdale and Josh Shaw host Lancaster.

Thursday Night Action
Mater Dei with Chris Ward and Victor Blackwell, lost 36-29 to Edison in overtime.
