"I like the camaraderie between the players and how easy going the coaches were."
The 6-4, 250-pound Young finished his junior season with 20 receptions for two touchdowns. He reported weight room marks of 280 pounds benching, and 405 squatting. He also reported a 26-inch vertical jump.
"I'm a player that gets off the line pretty quick," Young said of his skills. "So I get to my blocks real quick or can run a good route and catch the ball."
The tight end has reported in the past that UCLA is his top school, but claimed on Sunday that he won't make a decision before he visits the Bruins and the other school on his short list along with ASU – Florida State. "I'm going to visit UCLA sometime after the football season," Young noted. "I'll visit Florida State too but I don't know when, maybe during the season. I don't have a favorite school out there until I visit all three of them.
"I was impressed by ASU and now I have to compare the other two schools to that visit. I don't plan to make a decision before I visit all three schools"
Young mentioned that academics will play a big part in his decision. "I want to see how far I can go in the books as well as on the field," he explained. "I'm looking for a good coaching staff too and a good location. I want to go to a warm weather school."
