Friday Prospect Preview: Week 7

A big clash in the Trinity League between Mater Dei and Servite and one in the Bay Area between Monte Vista and Foothill highlight Week 7 action involving UCLA commits and targets...

Game of the Week: Anaheim Servite vs. Santa Ana Mater Dei
While Mater Dei has lost five-straight to Orange Lutheran, they have a better streak against Servite, having not lost to the Friars since the 1980's. But Servite, led by Kirifi Taula, one of UCLA's top targets, looks to snap that streak against the Chris Ward-led Monarchs in Trinity League play at Santa Ana Stadium.

Pleasanton Foothill vs. Danville Monte Vista
Two future Pac-10 quarterbacks tangle in a game nationally televised on ESPNU. Foothill is led by future Oregon State quarterback Sean Mannion while Monte Vista is paced by future Bruin signal-caller Brett Nottingham, and their defense is led by future Cal Bear Dave Wilkerson at linebacker.

Riverside Norte Vista at Kaiser
Kaiser, with USC commit Anthony Brown and UCLA target Josh Shirley, who is doing well at his new spot of linebacker, try to stay unbeaten in Sunkist League play.

Gardena Serra vs. Harvard-Westlake
The vaunted Cavaliers offense, with UCLA target Paul Richardson in the mix, has overshadowed a stellar defense, paced by elite 2011 prospect Jason Gibson, but they'll face their first real test in Del Rey League play when they take on Harvard-Westlake.

La Canada St. Francis at Loyola
Junior quarterback Jerry Neuheisel and UCLA target John Young lead the Cubs in their final non-league game when they take on St. Francis and star athlete Dietrich Riley, who plays their final non-league game as well.

Riverside King vs Corona
UCLA running back target Jordon James is running the Wildcat for the Panthers, who's roster also includes UCLA recruit Chidera Uzo-Direbe and 2011 prospect DeVante Wilson and they take on Riverside King.

Brookhaven (Ohio) vs. East
UCLA commit Derrick Bryant and Brookhaven face East on Friday night in Columbus.

Novi Detroit Catholic Central vs Orchard Lake St. Mary Prep
UCLA pledge Earnest Thomas and OLSMP get their second crack at Catholic Central, who shut them out 27-0 earlier this year, in a game being played at Detroit's Ford Field.

Crenshaw at Fremont
Two of UCLA's prime targets, 2010 linebacker Hayes Pullard and 2011 athlete DeAnthony Thomas, look to keep the unbeaten Cougars perfect when they face winless Fremont in Coliseum League play.
