Pleasanton Foothill def. Danville Monte Vista, 41-37
In a game nationally televised, Foothill quarterback Sean Mannion, an Oregon State commit, threw a 16-yard touchdown with 50 seconds left to put Foothill ahead and then Foothill intercepted a Brett Nottingham pass seconds later to preserve the win. Nottingham, committed to UCLA, finished 26-for-43 for 396 yards and three touchdowns while Mannion was 29-of-43 for 390 yards and four touchdowns.
Kaiser def. Riverside Notre Vista, 31-8
Kaiser, led by UCLA target Josh Shirley had no problem with Norte Vista in this Sunkist League contest. Shirley had 10 tackles and two for loss, continuing his smooth transition to the linebacker position.
Oaks Christian def. Carpinteria, 56-0
Unbeaten Oaks, and UCLA commit Malcolm Jones cruised to a 56-0 win over Carpinteria. Jones ended the evening with 176 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, all in the first half.
Chula Vista Eastlake def. Chula Vista Mater Dei, 51-6
UCLA commit and U.S. Army All-American Tony Jefferson and Eastlake extended their winning streak to five games with a rout of Eastlake. Jefferson carried the ball nine times for 128 yards and scored two touchdowns.
Bellevue def. Renton Liberty, 27-21
Bellevue extended their streak to 19 wins over Washington opponents but the Julious Moore-led Wolverines definitely were tested by the #3 team in the state, Liberty. .
Gardena Serra def. Harvard-Westlake, 34-6
Junior quarterback Connor Preston was 20-of-28 for 286 yards and a touchdown, with Paul Richardson catching a 28-yard score, on a night he had four receptions for 59 yards and Robert Woods had seven catches for 96 yards while George Farmer added six for 97. Defensive back Bene Benwikere had two picks, including one for 60-yards he returned for a touchdown.
La Canada St. Francis def. Loyola, 27-23
Dietrich Riley rushed for 84 yards and caught a touchdown pass for St. Francis, who scored with 11 seconds left to earn the win over Loyola Junior quarterback Jerry Neuheisel and UCLA target John Young connected on a nine-yard touchdown pass, with Neuheisel finishing the game 14-for-21 for 202 yards and two scores.
Riverside King def. Corona, 15-7
UCLA running back target Jordon James was out with an injury and Corona missed him, dropping a 15-7 contest.
Brookhaven (Ohio) def. East, 32-0
UCLA commit Derrick Bryant and Brookhaven pitched a shutout against East, improving their record to 7-2.
Crenshaw def. Fremont, 62-0
UCLA linebacker recruit Hayes Pullard had a big night on offense, carrying the ball just three times but for 151 yards and scoring two touchdowns in the rout of Fremont.
