The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Ash visited UCLA two weeks ago, and said he will visit Michigan this weekend when the Wolverines host Ohio State.
Ash added he will visit Rutgers the weekend of Dec. 5, when the Scarlet Knights host West Virginia in the regular season finale. It will be the second time Ash gets an in-person look at the Mountaineers. He took an official visit to Morgantown, W.V., in September.
Ash said he also is talking with South Florida, and could see another school receiving an official visit.
"I don't have a favorite,'' Ash said. "I want a place that has great academics, good football and a good coaching staff.''
It is a decision Ash is taking seriously as he navigates his way through the recruiting process. "It's rough and kind of confusing,'' Ash said. "This decision is going to affect my life.''
So, Ash is making sure to take copious mental notes during his trips.
While at UCLA, he took in the Bruins' 24-23 win against Washington at the Rose Bowl and enjoyed the Southern California lifestyle.
"It was nice. (Defensive end) Datone Jones hosted,'' Ash said. "We went to the game, went to a nice restaurant by the beach, hung out with players, got a tour of the campus and facilities.''
Since this was his second trip, Ash was able to compare Los Angeles to Morgantown.
"It was kind of different,'' Ash said." Both places make you eat a lot. In California, I ate seafood.''
