Norvel Pelle is in No Hurry

One of the elite prospects in the west for 2011, junior power forward Norvel Pelle, has offers from some of the top programs in the country, but says it will be a while before he's ready to make a commitment...

Norvel Pelle, 6-8 JR PF Los Angeles (Calif.) Price, is one of the elite prospects in the country for 2011. A terrific athlete, Pelle is very quick off the floor and he's an excellent shot-blocker. His ball skills have improved a great deal in the last year and he projects as a guy that will ultimately play both inside and on the perimeter at the next level.

I spoke with Pelle recently and asked about the schools that have been in contact with him.

"There have been a lot," said Pelle. "Pretty much the whole Pac-10 has offered. Also Kansas, Texas, Miami, UConn, North Carolina…some others."

Pelle has visited Washington and UCLA. I asked him if he has any other visits planned at this time.

"Not right now," said Pelle. "I will be sitting down with my family and talking about that."

I asked Pelle if he has a time frame for making his decision.

"I'll decide during my senior year," said Pelle. "There is no hurry."

Pelle transferred from Dominguez to Price over the summer and I asked him how the transition has been.

"It's been excellent," said Pelle. "I really like it at Price."
