Carr Re-Opens His Recruitment

Daunte Carr, the 6-2, 195-pound safety prospect from Gainesville, Georgia, committed to Stanford back in June, but due to some concerns he has re-opened his recruitment...

"I am pulling my commitment back to a soft verbal to Stanford," said Daunte Carr Monday night. "I have some concerns about getting into Stanford because I have not heard anything back from admissions."

"The coaches have nothing to do with that and I do not know when I am going to hear something back from them. I do not want to wait too long and miss out on other opportunities."

So what does Carr plan to do next?

"I have contacted Stanford coaches and they totally understand where I am coming from," he said. "They know I am going look at everything again and start to take some other visits."

"I am going to look at Virginia, UCLA, Ole Miss, Louisville, Connecticut, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, and Wisconsin."

"I have contacted those schools and they all want me to come in for a visit."

The visits will be very important for Carr. The 6-foot-2, 195 pound safety out of Gainesville (GA) knows time is running out as Signing Day is less than a month away, so he has get going quickly.

"I will take some official visits and some unofficial visits the next few weeks. I will be somewhere this weekend. I do not know where yet, but I am planning to visit someone officially."

"The coaches want me to visit and then we will talk about offers. They just want to get me on campus first before we talk about anything."

For now, Carr remains committed to Stanford, but he is not sure if that is who he will sign with come the first Wednesday in February.

"We will just have to wait and see what happens," said the safety. "I just need to take visits, see the different schemes, the campuses, and find out what happens at Stanford."

"Time is running out and I want to play Division I football, so I have open things back up right now."
