Zumwalt Will Hold Off Another Week

Huntington Beach (Calif.) Edison linebacker Jordan Zumwalt talks about the factors in deciding between UCLA, USC and Stanford, especially now since the situation with Stanford has changed...

Huntington Beach (Calif.) Edison linebacker Jordan Zumwalt (6-4, 220), got the news he was waiting for from Stanford on his official visit.

"I found out that I was admitted when I was on my official visit," said Zumwalt. "I had a good time on my visit there. It was a very good experience. Shayne Skov was my host. Stanford wants me to play outside linebacker, and I feel I could play early there."

Zumwalt committed to the Cardinal in the spring, but had to wait to find his admission status.

Now that the word is in from the Stanford admissions office, where does Zumwalt stand?

"I'd rather not talk a lot about it," said Zumwalt. "I don't know what I'm doing yet, and I don't really want to talk about it until I make my final decision."

Zumwalt did acknowledge that he's still considering USC and UCLA.

"I'll decide next week sometime between Stanford, UCLA and USC," said Zumwalt.

Zumwalt was visited by USC earlier this week and Stanford will be in tonight.

"Coach (Lane) Kiffin came over on Tuesday and Coach (Tim) Drevno is coming (Thursday)," said Zumwalt.

Zumwalt, who popped into the final Scout 300, and is ranked as the #9 middle linebacker in the country, said when he finalizes his decision, he'll do so quietly.

"The plan is to just call the coaches up and tell them," said Zumwalt.
