Cassius Marsh Switches to UCLA

Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian defensive tackle Cassius Marsh switched his commitment on Tuesday night from LSU to hometown UCLA...

The long, winding recruitment of Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian defensive tackle Cassius Marsh has come to a final close, with the four-star's decision to commit to the hometown Bruins.

"I did commit to UCLA," said Marsh.

The commitment from Marsh gives the Bruins their second commit from Oaks Christian, a place they traditionally have struggled to land recruits.

Marsh joins teammate Malcolm Jones in pledging to the Bruins.

The verbal to UCLA is the third one for Marsh, who initially committed to California in the spring, then switched it to LSU in the fall.

But he told us after his official visit to UCLA, that distance from home was playing a factor, and that helped UCLA's cause.

"They are the best option for me to stay home and they are on their way to being on top of the Pac-10," said Marsh. "I want to take them there."

Marsh is the eighth-ranked defensive tackle in the country by Scout.com and the fourth member of the Scout 100 to commit to the Bruins.

He was a First Team All-Southern California pick in 2009 by GoldenStatePreps.com.
