Spencer Dinwiddie, 6-3 JR PG Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft, is one of the elite point guard prospects in the West Coast class of 2011. A true point, Dinwiddie has exceptional length and vision for the position. He's still maturing physically, but Dinwiddie has a good frame and he should be a terrific player down the road.

I spoke with Dinwiddie recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been in touch with him.

"I'm hearing a lot from San Diego and Hawaii," said Dinwiddie. "Among the bigger programs, I'm hearing from Arizona State, Washington and UCLA."

Dinwiddie said ASU, Hawaii, San Diego, San Diego State and Santa Clara have extended scholarship offers.

Dinwiddie recently visited San Diego when Taft was at the Torrey Pines tournament in December. I asked him for his impressions of the school.

"It was a really cool – it's a nice school," said Dinwiddie. "The staff is really nice. School wasn't in session, so I didn't get to interact with the students, but it was really cool."

Dinwiddie said he may take some unofficial visits when his season ends.

"ASU, Hawaii and UW all want me to visit after my season," said Dinwiddie. "And UCLA I can go over there any time."

I asked Dinwiddie what he is looking for in a program.

"The staff, playing style and playing time," said Dinwiddie. "I'd like to be someplace warmer, but I'm fine with anything."

Dinwiddie said he has a 3.3 GPA and scored 1800 on the SAT.
