Recruits UCLA Looks to Get at This Time: Ricky Heimuli, DT, Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton. He's visiting Washington officially this weekend, but the general feeling is that he sees the chance of immediate playing time at UCLA and the connection with Norm Chow as the deciding factors. He will have a small announcement at his high school on signing day.
Sealii Epenesa, DT Honolulu (Haw.) Iolani. The word is that he's leaning heavily to UCLA, after visits to Oregon State and Baylor. He's supposed to officially visit Hawaii, but it's believed that it's just a courtesy visit. He may end up at the PIAA Signing Day event they have in Honolulu.
Hayes Pulllard, LB, Los Angeles Crenshaw. He's completed all of his official visits and we continue to hear that UCLA is his choice. He'll announce on CBS College Sports (on Direct TV), with the time TBD.
Anthony Jefferson, DB, Los Angeles Cathedral. He just took an official visit to Arizona and he's now done with his visits. The word persists that UCLA will be his choice. He'll announce on FSN's High School Signing Day Show that airs at 12:00.
Recruits That Are Still Too Difficult to Call:
Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE, Portland (Ore.) Douglas. Rumors have been coming in waves about what schools are Owa's two finalists. They are definitely two among UCLA, Oregon State and Nebraska. Over the last week, it's been said that Nebraska was leading. Just yesterday, we heard from a source close to the recruitment that he's currently leaning to UCLA. Owa will announce at 11:30 PST on ESPNU.
Dietrich Riley, S, La Canada (Calif.) St. Francis. He keeps telling people he's leaning to UCLA, but he's going to take an official visit to USC this weekend, which should be a big weekend for USC, and the prevailing wisdom is that he'll be back in the USC frame of mind. After being not sure that he'd decide by Signing Day, now he says he'll announce on ESPNU on Wednesday, but the time of his announcement is uncertain.
Jordan Zumwalt, LB, Huntington Beach (Calif.) Edison. The latest is that it's 50-50 UCLA and Stanford. He hasn't said when he'll announce.
Josh Shirley, LB, Fontana (Calif.) Kaiser. Shirley, as late as Thursday, was going to visit UCLA this weekend, but today we've heard the visit isn't happening. It's thought that the UCLA-Shirley recruitment is now over.
