High Major Interest for Wiltjer

Kyle Wiltjer, a talented junior big man from Oregon, has quite a few top programs around the country showing interest in him...

Kyle Wiltjer, 6-9 JR PF Portland (Ore.) Jesuit, is a very skilled post prospect with deep range on his shot.

I spoke with Wiltjer recently and he gave me a list of schools that have been in contact with him.

"Gonzaga, Kansas, the whole Pac-10, Texas, Kentucky, Wake Forest, Harvard, Florida, Georgetown and Marquette," said Wiltjer.

Wiltjer said Arizona State, USC, Oregon State, Cal, Stanford, Oregon, Gonzaga, Kansas and Wake Forest have extended scholarship offers.

"I'm open right now," said Wiltjer. "I haven't started to narrow it down yet."

Wiltjer has taken a number of unofficial visits so far.

"I've been to Oregon, Oregon State, Cal, Stanford, Kansas, UCLA and Wake Forest," said Wiltjer.

I asked Wiltjer what he's looking for in a school.

"Definitely the style of play, where I can go and be versatile," said Wiltjer. "I want to be able to post up and shoot from the outside as well. A good coach and good player development are the other things that are really important."

Wiltjer said he doesn't have a specific time in mind to make his decision.

"It'll probably be sometime after the AAU stuff," said Wiltjer. "If I have to wait, I will."

Wiltjer said he has a cumulative 3.3 GPA.
