2011 UCLA Prospects: Offense

With UCLA's 2010 class put to bed, here is an early look at the top prospects on the offensive side of the ball that UCLA is targeting in the class of 2011...

As the UCLA coaching staff starts to focus more aggressively on recruiting the 2011 class, they'll do so with fewer scholarships to give than they've had in the previous three classes. Right now, we're hearing they'll have between 14-17 scholarships to give.

UCLA stocked up on the defensive side of the ball in the 2010 class while emephasizing offensive recruits with the 2009 class. The 2011 class could be evenly weighted between offensive and defensive recruits.

Here is a look at who UCLA will likely be targeting for the 2010 class, with how many they will likely bring in at specific positions.  Players in bold have been offered by UCLA already, while the rest of the list is alphabetical (by first name).

The loss of Nottingham makes getting a quarterback in the class of 2011 a necessity.  So UCLA will bring in at least one, and with the scuttlebutt being that the younger Neuheisel will walk on, in theory, UCLA will have two quarterbacks come in, but one will for sure be a scholarship quarterback.

With two pure running backs in the class of 2010, in Jones and James, and a third in Barr, UCLA doesn't need a running back as much as they do a receiver.  So they'll probably just try to bring one in.

UCLA signed three linemen last week, but with departures from Hasiak and Su'a-Filo, they'll need to continue to shore up the depth along the line, so they'll want to bring in at least three linemen in this class.
