Ross Returns, Has Big-Time Suitors

Terrance Ross, the 6-5 wing who is a member of the Scout.com Top 100 for 2010, has transferred back to his original high school, Portland Jefferson, after playing at a prep school on the east coast. UCLA is trying to get involved...

Terrence Ross is settling in at his old high school Portland (Ore.) Jefferson.

Although he's back and enrolled at Jefferson after leaving Rockville (Md.) Montrose a few weeks ago, Ross, a highly regarded four-star wing, has yet to be cleared to play.

"Word on that is probably going to come in next week," Jefferson coach Pat Strickland said. "He was actually cleared to practice last Friday."

Although Ross left out of the blue last year, Strickland and his team have been open about the 6-foot-6, 175-pound wing coming back.

"We have welcomed him back with open arms," Strickland said. "The guys don't mind him playing and he's hanging out with the guys."

Ross, who still has some academic issues to work out, is still "open" recruiting wise, according to Strickland.

"I'm not handling his deal," Strickland said. "His mom is, but I know Kentucky, Washington, Oklahoma, UCLA are just a few that I came name."

Strickland didn't know of any upcoming visits.
