West Coast Pursues Bailey

Kevin Bailey, an explosive, 6-5 wing in the 2011 class from Fresno, Calif., has multiple West Coast schools recruiting him, but one Pac-10 school leads the pack for him right now...

Kevin Bailey, 6-5 JR SF Clovis (Calif.) Clovis East, is a very athletic wing with a significant upside. While his jump shot is still a work in progress, Bailey is a terrific finisher and potentially a very good defensive player.

I spoke with Bailey recently and asked him which schools have been recruiting him so far.

"Stanford, Washington, UC Davis, Arizona, Arizona State, UCLA and Fresno State," said Bailey.

I asked Bailey if any school stands out for him at this time.

"I like Stanford, they are the top one right now," said Bailey.

Bailey talked a little about the factors he'll consider when he chooses a school.

"A good education and somewhere that I can make an impact," said Bailey. "I want to stay somewhat close if possible."

Bailey, who attended UCLA's camp last summer, said he has also taken unofficial visits to Stanford and UC Davis.

"I liked Stanford a lot," said Bailey.

I asked Bailey if he has a time frame for making his decision.

"Hopefully by the time the season starts next year," said Bailey. "But if the right one comes along, I could decide before then."

Bailey said he has a 3.4 GPA.
