Quarterback prospect Jake Geringer, the 6-2, 205-pounder from Newbury Park (Calif.) High, is hitting the road for Junior Days and unofficial visits as he seeks his first scholarship offer...

Newbury Park (Calif.) quarterback Jake Geringer is doing his part to get as many opportunities to see college campuses during the spring.

He's already visited both of the Los Angeles schools, USC and UCLA, as well as San Diego State, and plans to hit a few more schools during the latter part of spring.

"I really enjoyed Junior Day visits at UCLA and USC," said Geringer.

Next up will be visits to Utah, Wyoming, Washington and Oregon State during his spring break.

"It's a lot of miles and it took awhile just to work out the logistics," said Geringer. "I'm looking forward to meeting some of the coaches that I have been talking to and seeing the facilities."

Geringer is planning to camp at USC and the Las Vegas Steve Clarkson Dreammaker Academy.

"I attended spring ball at San Diego State and plan to do the same at UCLA and USC," said Geringer.

Geringer is still looking for his first offer.

"I think I'm close with Wyoming," said Geringer. "My fingers are crossed, maybe I'll get it on this upcoming trip."

As a 2009 junior at Newbury Park, Geringer was 160-for-249 for 2,251 yards with 22 touchdowns and four interceptions. He earned First Team All-Marmonte League and was named Team Offensive MVP.
