Five schools have offered Moreland, including four from the Pac-10.
Moreland said it's still early for him in the process, but said two teams are standing out.
"I like Oregon and UCLA at the top right now," said Moreland.
Moreland said he'll be visiting Eugene during the summer.
"I'm going to take a visit to Oregon and then to Washington," said Moreland.
So far, the only school he's visited has been UCLA.
"I took an unofficial trip to UCLA and talked with Coach (Rick) Neuheisel," said Moreland. "He's the one recruiting me. I'm going to try and go to some of their spring practices and then go to the UCLA camp this summer."
Moreland said while he likes the proximity to home UCLA offers, he's leaning towards leaving Southern California.
"My family kind of wants me to leave California, so that's why I'm looking at Oregon," said Moreland.
Moreland has played defensive end for Salesian, but projects to outside linebacker in college.
"I'm playing outside linebacker at the camps this summer and going to play it this year," said Moreland. "I want to play strongside so I can get after the quarterback."
Academically, he's carrying a 3.6 GPA and is planning to take the SAT later this spring.
As a junior, Moreland had 95 tackles, 45 for loss and 21 sacks at Salesian. He was named All-League Defensive MVP, All-CIF and L.A. Wave Player of the Year.
