Fontana (Calif.) Kaiser linebacker Dennis Taylor (6-0, 230), flanked incoming UCLA linebacker Josh Shirley during a strong junior season.

Taylor is hoping to find the same recruiting success that Shirley did, and schools are starting to take a closer look at Taylor.

"I've been hearing from Colorado, Vanderbilt, Boise State, UCLA and Oregon," said Taylor. "No one has offered yet but a lot of schools want me to come to their camps."

Taylor said he grew up a Texas fan, but likes the two Los Angeles schools, where Shirley is headed to one and another Kaiser teammate, Anthony Brown, is going to USC.

"I like both UCLA and USC, but UCLA and Oregon are my top two schools on the West Coast," said Taylor.

Taylor said he's planning to camp at USC and UCLA as well as the B2G Elite Camp this summer.

"I may go to a couple more, but those are the ones I know I'm going to," said Taylor.

Taylor plays in the middle and hopes to stay in that spot in college.

"I want to play middle linebacker and most schools are telling me that," said Taylor.

Academically, he has a 3.0 GPA and will take the SAT in the spring.

Last fall, he was a First Team All-Sunkist League linebacker and also played fullback. He had 55 solo tackles, 45 assists, two fumble recoveries and an interception.
