"I have offers from Washington, Oregon, Washington State, Oregon State, Cal, UCLA and Stanford from the Pac-10 and then Idaho," said Shelton. "The majority of the interest I have is in the Pac-10. And USC has recently gotten in contact but I've only talked with them once."
Shelton is originally from Northern California, and a Golden State school was his childhood favorite.
"I'm originally from Sacramento and I would have gone to Grant like all my cousins," said Shelton. "So I grew up a USC fan."
Shelton said while he's leaning towards playing in the Pac-10, he wouldn't mind getting more interest nationally, specifically from one conference.
"I'd like to hear from some of the SEC schools, so I'm getting my info out to see if they want to talk with me," said Shelton.
Shelton's teammate Chris Young signed with Washington in February, committing to the Huskies 10 months before Signing Day. Shelton, though, wants to take it slower.
"I don't really have a top five because I'm still pretty wide open," said Shelton. "I'll start narrowing my list down by the beginning of the season. I want to enjoy the process and I want to take my five visits."
The all-SPSL prospect said all of the attention in him is coming as a defensive tackle.
"I'm not trying to be a certain weight, I'm just trying to lift hard and keep my speed, so we'll see where it's at," said Shelton.
Academically, Shelton has a 3.6 GPA and will take the SAT on May 1st.
