2011 Intro: Collin Woods

Collin Woods, a very quick, 6-1, junior combo guard from Scottsdale (Ariz.) Horizon, one of the better guard prospects in the west for 2011, gives us his first thoughts on his recruitment..

Collin Woods, 6-1 JR PG/SG Scottsdale (Ariz.) Horizon, is a very promising prospect that might play either guard spot in college. Woods is very quick, with the ability to get his own shot, and a good feel for the game. He projects as one of the better guard prospects in the west for 2011.

I spoke with Woods recently and asked about the schools that have been expressing interest in him to date.

"Cal, Weber State, Colorado State, UCLA, Portland, San Diego, Northern Arizona, Arizona State, St. Mary's and Oregon State," said Woods.

Woods said that he doesn't have a leader at this time, while Weber State and Colorado State have offered scholarships.

I asked Woods what he is looking for in a school.

"The environment, how I relate to the coaches and players, as well as how I fit in the system," said Woods.

I asked Woods if he has an idea as to when he'll make his decision.

"I'll probably decide in the fall," said Woods.

Woods said he has a 3.2 GPA.
