Bruins Offer Arizona Lineman

Tyler Johnstone, a 6-6, 255-pounder from Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton, was one of the top linemen at the Los Angeles NFTC last month, and he's also a stellar longsnapper, and UCLA became the 10th school to offer him...

UCLA missed out on the services of the West's top offensive lineman, Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton's Christian Westerman, but they have now turned to his teammate, Tyler Johnstone.

"I just was offered by UCLA," said Johnstone on Saturday.

And not to say that the 6-6, 255-pound Johnstone plays second fiddle to the five-star Westerman.

Johnstone is a stud in his own right. The offer from UCLA now gives him ten official offers under his belt.

"(Coach) Bob Palcic emailed me and wanted me to call him, so I did. He said that I had a full ride, if I want it, which made me very excited," said Johnstone. "I am pretty thrilled. I've heard nothing but good things about that schools and I really want to see it first hand."

In addition to UCLA, Johnston has offers from Air Force, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, Oregon State, San Diego State and Washington State.

"I mean, this is my tenth offer and I honestly never thought I would get this many, it's all very exciting," said Johnstone.

Last fall, Johnstone was named honorable mention all-region as an offensive tackle and First Team all-region as a long snapper.
