The Wear Twins Sign With UCLA

The two sophomore-to-be posts, David and Travis Wear, left North Carolina at the beginning of the month, and even though it was pretty much a foregone conclusion they'd transfer to UCLA, it was finalized today...

Travis Wear and David Wear, two sophomore-to-be post players, have signed Grant in Aid documents to enroll at UCLA, according to sources.

The Wear twins, both 6-9 and 245 pounds, decided to leave North Carolina early this month. It was believed it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that the brothers would transfer to UCLA, but there were some issues with North Carolina that had to be worked out in the last week or so.

The Wears picked North Carolina over UCLA out of high school. From Santa Ana Mater Dei, the Wears were McDonald All-Americans, then played sparingly at North Carolina as freshmen last season. Travis Wear played in 32 games for the Tar Heels, averaging 10.3 minutes, 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. David played in 27 games, averaging 10.5 minutes, 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds before his season ended as a result of a torn labrum in his hip that required surgery in March.
