Encino (Calif.) Crespi receiver Devin Lucien
will be one of the many campers at UCLA
this weekend who hopes to turn some heads and pick up an offer from the Bruin staff.
"I'm going to the UCLA camp this weekend and I'm hoping to land an offer from them," said Lucien. "I've worked out with Kevin Prince
at Crespi and would love to get an offer from UCLA."
Lucien already has offers from Oregon State, Illinois, Tulsa, Colorado, Air Force and Iowa State, but he's hoping for even more.
"Oregon I'm hoping for and Coach (Scott) Frost was at my school," said Lucien. "Cal and Notre Dame are some other ones."
Lucien is planning to hit some other camps besides UCLA.
"I'm going to the Cal camp with pads, Oregon State, Boise State and Colorado," said Lucien.
Lucien doesn't have a leader, but remains open to all.
"Oregon is a great school, and Cal and UCLA would be big," said Lucien. "And I'm interested in all of the schools that have offered me. But I'm definitely going to take official visits before I decide."
Iowa State wouldn't be the first school people think of with strong recruiting ties to the West Coast, but that's not the case at Crespi, having signed Ben Loth and Pierce Richardson in February from the Celts.
"I'm considering them for the simple fact that my friends are going there and with them offering Reggie Coates and Charles Washington, I know we're all considering Iowa State," said Lucien.
Academically, Lucien has a 3.2 and is awaiting his SAT scores.
