Bruin Early Elite Camp Preview

UCLA will host their Early Elite 1-Day Football Camp on Sunday, and here is a look at some of the prospects expected to be in Westwood...

On Sunday, UCLA is hosting their Early Elite 1-Day Camp, for both skill positions and linemen, on campus.

This is the first of three camps the UCLA coaching staff will be hosting, with their "Big Men, Big Dreams" Lineman Camp being held on Saturday, June 19th and their "Above and Beyond" Skills Camp the following day, June 20th.

A host of top prospects will be on hand in Westwood including a few quarterback prospects looking to land UCLA offers.

With quarterback recruiting so vital to this class, the Bruin staff will observe a couple of prospects, who could emerge with a coveted offer.

Heading that list is Highlands Ranch (Colo.) Valor Christian quarterback Brock Berglund, who's been out to Westwood already during the spring.

Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola quarterback Jerry Neuheisel is also expected at the camp, the lone uncommitted in-state quarterback with an offer from UCLA.

Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft quarterback Michael Bercovici has had a tremendous spring at the various camps, and he'll hit the UCLA camp on Sunday.

Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian will have receiver Blair Holliday at the camp, one of the more unheralded receivers in the Southland as well as fellow Marmonte Leaguer Richard Mullaney from Thousand Oaks, who's gotten a few offers in the spring.

Encino (Calif.) Crespi receiver Devin Lucien is another player who's performed extremely well this spring at the various camps, and he's hoping to land an offer from the Bruin staff. As we've said before, Lucien reminds us a lot of Ricky Marvray, a current Bruin, and is one of the best receivers in the West.

Stockton (Calif.) Lincoln receiver Brandin Cooks indicated that he planned to camp at UCLA this week, even after receiving an offer from the Bruin coaches earlier in the week.

Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde tight end/receiver Junior Pomee said he was planning to camp in Westwood this weekend as well as Las Vegas (Nev.) receiver Marquan Major.

In the trenches, UCLA will have a handful of linemen on hand, with Covina (Calif.) South Hills guard Sioasi Aiono one of them. La Mirada (Calif.) offensive lineman Bryan Peters, who's got a slew of offers, though none from UCLA, will also be there.

Defensively, Jeff Worthy has been waiting to audition for an offer and the Whittier (Calif.) Christian defensive tackle will get his chance to workout for his dream school.

Also expected from the defensive linemen are Las Vegas (Nev.) Liberty defensive end Sam Tai and Sacramento (Calif.) Inderkum defensive tackle Nathan Falo.

Los Angeles (Calif.) Salesian linebacker Devon Moreland, one of the top backers in the West, is expected, and UCLA is doing very well with him.

Some of the top 2012 prospects expected to camp there include Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco receiver Bryce Treggs and Lakewood (Calif.) receiver Malik Gilmore.

BRO will have tons of coverage from the Early Elite Camp this week.
