Willis Prefers the Pac-10 Schools

Garden Grove (Calif.) Pacifica athlete Joel Willis was one of the better performers at UCLA's Skill Camp last week.

The versatile Willis has a half dozen offers and a strong preference for the Pac-10.

"I have six offers, from Washington, Utah, Utah State, Hawaii, Nebraska and Arizona," said Willis. "And I think USC is close, Cal is and hopefully UCLA."

Willis is hearing from schools as a corner and as a receiver.

"Coach (Reggie) Moore is recruiting me for UCLA and they like me as a receiver," said Willis. "Schools are looking at me overall as an athlete. It really doesn't matter to me."

Willis' top five is dotted with all Pac-10 schools.

"My top five schools are UCLA, USC, Washington, Cal and Stanford," said Willis. "From that five, I'm pretty wide open."

Willis doesn't want to make a decision any time soon.

"I want to take some trips and decide closer to Signing Day," said Willis.

Academically, Willis is solid with a 3.6 GPA, but he's not satisfied with that.

"I can get it up to a 3.8 by the end of the year, at least," said Willis, who took his SAT in early June.
