Blackmon won the CIF-SS 110m hurdles and qualified for the state meet in the hurdles, but a hamstring injury cost him a chance at winning the event at the state meet.
"It's feeling a lot better and really shouldn't affect me this summer or this season," said Blackmon.
Now the gifted athlete is getting a chance to concentrate on football now, as he prepares for his senior year.
Blackmon camped at UCLA last month, clocking a 4.39 forty when tested. Later this month, he'll be at the Gridiron Kings in Orlando.
Then it will be on to the season.
So how is recruiting shaking out for Blackmon?
Blackmon said a decision could be coming as early as the end of July.
"I might announce when I'm at Gridiron Kings," said Blackmon.
Blackmon said he may take all of his official visits still, even if he makes an early decision, but that is up in the air.
"I'm just taking it all in stride right now," said Blackmon.
Academically, Blackmon is fully qualified.
Blackmon scored 11 touchdowns this past season for Summit, five as a receiver, six on the ground, when he played primarily quarterback for Kaiser.
