"Another good day, pushing through, pushing through. You got to be loud. You got to be aggressive, got to get on them to keep pushing, keep prodding them. But we got a bunch of willing kids. I'm pleased with that.
"We'll get another scrimmage situation tomorrow, some other short-yardage situations and goal-line stuff, maybe some coming out, where we put the ball on the two and see if the offense can get it out in what the percentages say is a great opportunity for the opponent, if the defense can keep them pinned down there and create some points.
"Things are on schedule, hopefully get some guys back. We keep asking questions. I don't have any more information than I had this morning. We'll keep looking and seeing and hopefully get as many guys back as possible. Certainly we're looking at early next week to have the whole team back that can be back as we prepare for Kansas State."
Q: ARE YOU GETTING A LITTLE MORE WORRIED ABOUT JEFF BACA, HE'S ON CRUTHCES NOW?
"He was in a little pain, so they were trying to take a little weight off the thing. I was told it would be a couple weeks. I hope we're going to be fine."
Q: CAN YOU TALK ABOUT CORY HARKEY'S RETURN?
Q: KEVIN PRINCE, IT'S LINGERING?
"I don't know what to tell you other than I don't have any more information. Eventually we got to get him out here. I hope we can soon."
Q: HE THREW A PASS TODAY [IN THE MORNING], DID YOU KNOW HE WAS GOING TO DO THAT?
"He's throwing some passes on the side with the trainers. He just wants to make sure he doesn't re-aggravate it. Muscles are funny things. It's just the way it is."
A couple of regular posters on the BRO message board supplied excellent reports from Wednesday's second practice.
