Race Remains Wide Open

Two weeks left in the regular season and six Big East teams are still alive for at least a share of the conference championship. Five teams still have a chance to win the title outright. Big East football fever: Catch it!

Big East Conference power rankings for Week 13 of the college football season:

1. West Virginia (7-3, 3-2): The Mountaineers already have wins over Rutgers and Cincinnati. West Virginia can clinch at least a share of the Big East title with wins over Pittsburgh and USF in the final two weeks.

2. Rutgers (8-3, 4-2): The Scarlet Knights were picked eighth in the Big East preseason poll and could clinch at least a share of its first Big East title with a win at UConn Saturday. So nice to a see a team actually exceeding expectations.

3. Cincinnati (7-3, 3-2): Cincinnati has lost two in a row and the Bearcats just aren't the same without quarterback Zach Collaros.

4. Pitt (5-5, 3-2): The Panthers got their first road victory of the season at Louisville on Nov. 12. Pitt has a big chance in the Backyard Brawl Friday against WVU.

5. Louisville (6-5, 4-2): Let's face it. Louisville got lucky at UConn Saturday. This is a young team with a lot of potential for next season, but the Cardinals caught a lot of breaks – as UConn dropped a lot of passes.

6. UConn (4-6, 2-3): Saturday is Senior Day at The Rent. A win over Rutgers would make the Huskies feel so much better. Rutgers has a solid pass rush so the Huskies better rediscover the running game.

7. South Florida (5-5, 1-4): Miami 6, USF 3. The Bulls and Hurricanes combined for nine points and 17 punts. USF never even reached the red zone.

8. Syracuse (5-5, 1-4): Syracuse needs a win in either of its last two games (vs. Cincinnati, at Pitt) to become bowl-eligible for the second straight year. Just doesn't seem possible.
