Buck Has Bone Bruise

The Connecticut medical staff has run just about every test possible and announced Friday that junior center Heather Buck has a bone bruise in her right wrist.

Buck was injured Dec. 18 against Baylor and missed the game against College of Charleston. She did return to the court Thursday night and scored 10 points in UConn's romp over Fairfield.

UConn issued a press release Friday saying that Buck was examined by X-ray, MRI and CT Scan.

"Team physician Tom Trojian as well as consulting orthopedic surgeon Dr. Robert Arciero have determined that Heather Buck has a bone bruise in her wrist," the release said. "She will continue to practice and play as previously expected and announced to the media."

UConn (11-1) practiced Friday at Gampel Pavilion. The second-ranked Huskies return to game action Jan. 4 against West Virginia at the XL Center in Hartford before taking on Big East favorite and No. 3 Notre Dame Jan. 7 in South Bend, Ind.
