Coach McGraw Talks UConn

Third-ranked Notre Dame is off to a 14-1 start or better for the fourth time in school history and the third time in four years. And the 11-game winning streak for the Fighting Irish is their longest since they opened 2009-10 on a 15-game streak.

That 11th straight victory came Wednesday night when Skylar Diggins and Kayla McBride each scored 14 points to lead the Irish to a 74-36 victory over Seton Hall.

And all that helped set the stage for Saturday's big game (4 p.m., CBS) at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend when No. 2 Connecticut visits in the first critical Big East game of the season.

Notre Dame not only eliminated UConn from the Final Four last season, but the Irish were the favorites in the Big East preseason coaches' poll, a spot usually occupied by the Huskies.

This will be the first of two meetings between UConn and Notre Dame. The Irish come to Hartford on Feb. 27.

Notre Dame coach Muffett McGraw held a news conference Thursday to discuss the matchup with UConn. For a look at what she had to say, just copy the link below and then paste it into your browser.
