Napier: Game Time Decision

UConn may be without point guard Shabazz Napier Saturday against Cincinnati.

There's a chance Connecticut will be without point guard Shabazz Napier Saturday when the Huskies play Cincinnati at Fifth Third Arena (2 p.m., SNY).

Napier injured his right foot Wednesday night in the second half against Georgetown and missed practice Friday. He is still wearing a protective walking boot and UConn said he will be a game-time decision.

"I'll try to do what's best, not only for myself but for the team," Napier told reporters when the team arrived in Cincinnati. "Hopefully I'll wake up feeling good. If I don't, then I won't play."

According to the New Haven Register, Omar Calhoun re-aggravated his right wrist injury in practice Friday. Calhoun said there was more pain but he will play.

Coach Kevin Ollie was asked about reports that the Catholic 7 schools will leave the Big East after this season rather than staying an additional year. The non-football schools reportedly will keep the Big East name and the championship at Madison Square Garden.

At this point, UConn is left behind in a conference with no name.

"As long as I don't lose Connecticut on my jersey, I'm fine," Ollie said. "We can play in my backyard."
