UCONN Takes Peek At SF

One of the best players on Long Island is now receiving more interest from the National Champions ...

Interest in Danny Green, the savvy 6-foot-5 200 pound swingman from St. Mary's High School in Manhasset, New York, continues to grow. And the Connecticut basketball program has recently stepped up its interest in this talented 2005 recruit.

Green was recently offered a scholarship by North Carolina State. St. John's, with new head man Norm Roberts, has expressed interest in Danny.

Danny is a versatile swing-type who handles pretty well for his size, has excellent vision and passing skills, and sports a solid mid-range game. Green contributes to a team in a number of different ways; besides the dimensions he adds offensively, Danny will also defend and hit the glass.

Green averaged 16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 5 assists for coach Tim Cluess at St. Mary's last season. Danny attended the Adidas ABCD camp last summer. He will travel this spring and summer with the New York Panthers.

The key for Green is if he is to have high level interest from a great program like Connecticut will be the summer. If Green proves he can beat his man off the dribble and score against the best players in the 2005 class, he's likely to receive serious interest from the Connecticut basketball program.
