UCONN Target Takes West Coast Trip

One of Connecticut's top recruiting targets in the class of 2005 is taking campus trips

Connecticut basketball target, Brandon Costner, an outstanding 6-foot-7 forward from Seton Hall Prep in New Jersey, finished up an official visit last weekend to the campus of UCLA. Costner also took a visit to the Connecticut campus two weekends ago.

Brandon's dad said his son had a very good time on his trip to Los Angeles. "UCLA did a great job in showing Brandon why they would like to have him on their team," Mr. Costner said. "They were very cordial with him."

It was only two weekends ago that Costner took an unofficial visit to the campus of Connecticut. Costner also praised the visit and said he was impressed with everything about the Connecticut program. "He had a good time there too," said Brandon's dad. "He's going to take one more visit and then we are going to shut it down (recruiting) for a while."

The next visit will be a trip to North Carolina State this Monday, Memorial Day. Costner is playing at the Bob Gibbons tournament in Durham, North Carolina this weekend. So once the tournament is over, Costner will take the unofficial visit. "Then Brandon is going to concentrate on his schoolwork, getting prepared for his finals," Mr. Costner said. "After school is over then we'll sit down and sort out his list. He has such a big list."

Indiana, Kansas, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, Seton Hall, Villanova, and St. Joe's have been mentioned as possible schools of interest by Brandon. He previously mentioned interest in North Carolina too.
