Anderson Has Good Visit To UCONN

Maybe the best point guard at the Rumble in the Bronx, Antonio Anderson proved he is a high major player

Antonio Anderson, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound combo guard/wing forward from Maine Central Institute, is a player whose eye-catching athleticism and skill stood out at the Rumble in the Bronx at Fordham University this weekend.

Playing with the New England Playaz, Anderson showed plenty of bounce and capped off a couple of drives with emphatic slams. The athletic combo guard slashed for pull-ups and lay-ins, and was hard to guard in transition. Anderson was clearly one of the top run/jump athletes at the event.

Anderson plays at a high pace and emotion. The Insiders Report loved his intensity at both ends of the court. Anderson is also a solid defender and seemed to never let down on either side of the ball.

A number of high major programs are eyeing Anderson. His suitors include St. Joseph's, Connecticut, Marquette, Miami, Clemson, St. John's, Akron, UMass, and Memphis. According to Anderson, all of the schools, save for UConn, have offered scholarships. Anderson took an unofficial visit to UConn this week. Anderson said he enjoyed the visit. "The trip was nice," he said. "I liked the coaches and it was a good trip to see the campus."

Anthony previously attended Lynn Tech in Lynn, Massachusetts. He is the younger brother of UMass point guard Anthony Anderson.
