Will UCONN Offer Jessie Sapp?

Four schools make an offer to New York City Gauchos guard Jessie Sapp

Though the New York City Gauchos didn't win the Rumble in the Bronx, guard Jessie Sapp continued to showcase why he is one of the best available backcourt players in the country. Sapp had a couple of games of 25 plus points at the Rumble in the Bronx tournament held this past weekend at Fordham University.

"There are a lot of schools that are interested in me," Sapp said. "I don't really have a leader."

But Sapp has offers on the table. Miami, Georgetown, DePaul, and Arkansas have each offered a free ride. Clemson, St. John's, Pittsburgh, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Marshall, Georgia Tech and Connecticut continue to monitor the talented guard and are likely to watch him with some intensity this summer.

"I am working on my overall game," Sapp said. "I want to get quicker and stronger. I want to be quicker with my feet to help out my defense."

The Gauchos lost in the Silver Medal quarterfinals yesterday morning at the Rumble in the Bronx.
