Sapp Will Take Big East Trip Soon

New York City's Jessie Sapp continues to keep UCONN near the top of his list

Another Big East school is stepping up and working National Christian Academy lead guard/shooting guard Jessie Sapp very hard in the recruiting process. "I had a good conversation with St. John's recently," Sapp said. "They told me they had heard how well I was doing and that they want to recruit me."

Sapp, 6-foot-3 and 185-pounds, plays for the New York City Gauchos. "I am getting ready for the NIKE camp," Sapp said. "Then I am going to the Peach Jam and then to Orlando (for the Showcase and the National AAU event)."

Sapp said since he has finished up play in the spring, DePaul, Manhattan, and St. John's have really picked up interest in his recruiting process. In addtion, has several offers on the table. Manhattan, Miami, Georgetown, DePaul, and Arkansas have each offered a free ride.

Clemson, Pittsburgh, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Marshall, Georgia Tech and Connecticut continue to stay interested in talented guard. Sapp said he hoped to take a trip to Connecticut too but wasn't sure when it would take place.

Despite the heavy interest by several high major schools, Sapp has kept the recruiting door open. "I just want to work as hard as I can in July," Sapp said. "Then I can see who is really interested in me."
