Earl said he doesn't have a favorite right now but thinks the attraction of the Big East is important in his recruiting process. "Villanova, Connecticut, and Syracuse are schools I like a lot," he said.
The staff at St. John Neumann thinks very highly of Pettis for several reasons. The biggest reason is his versatility. Earl can play the one, two, three or four spot on the high school level. On the college level, he could probably receive playing minutes at either the point guard slot, the shooting guard position or the small forward area.
"I just like to play," Pettis said. "I want to go to a school I am comfortable with the playing style and the coaching staff." Earl said he is trying to improve certain parts of his individual game. "I am looking to improve my quickness, my foot speed," he stated. "I want to become a better defender."
