Big Man From NJ Could Be 2006 Target

A big man from New Jersey has received some high major interest from several schools including Connecticut

The University of Connecticut is one of several high major schools ready to evaluate one of the top players from New Jersey this summer. A member of the class of 2006, Brian Zoubek, a 7-foot, 242-pound center from Haddonfield High School in Haddonfield, New Jersey is a rising junior who is a developing center with some areas to improve.

Zoubek will compete this week at the Nike All-American Camp in Indianapolis. Zoubek will also play with the New Jersey All-Stars AAU program which will play at the Nike Peach Jam and the Super Showcase in Orlando, Florida. This site will have updates from each of these events for our subscribers.

Zoubek recently competed for the East team at the recent USA Basketball Youth Development Festival in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Zoubek averaged just two points and four rebounds. This was a big difference from his sophomore year last season at Haddonfield where he averaged 18 points and 12 rebounds per contest.

Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Connecticut, Michigan, Stanford, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Notre Dame, and Georgetown are some schools that have expressed early interest. Zoubek is also an outstanding student. He already has nailed down a 1360 on the PSAT.

Zoubek has stated he doesn't have a leader in his recruiting process. How he performs this summer is likely to shape the scope of his recruiting process for the next several months. Many schools are interested in seeing how Brian has progressed from a year ago.
