UCONN, State, KU Working Costner Hardest

Brandon Costner has Connecticut very high on his list

On the eve of the July live period, Brandon Costner appears content to let the chips fall where they may during the recruiting process.

Costner, a skilled 6-8, 220-pound power forward from Seton Hall Prep in West Orange, N.J., is considering eight colleges.

Costner said that the list includes Indiana, Michigan, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Kansas, Connecticut, Seton Hall and UCLA.

Costner added that N.C. State, Kansas and UConn have recruited him the hardest thus far, although he's only seen N.C. State and UConn unofficially of that trio. He took an official visit to UCLA in April and has been on the campus of nearby Seton Hall several times.

"I am going to make a fall decision, whenever I feel ready," Costner said. "I want to take some more visits first."

As a result, don't look for Costner to do anything hasty this summer.

This past season at Seton Hall Prep, Costner averaged 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks. He has a 3.3 GPA and scored a 940 on the SAT.

Costner is in Atlanta this week for the adidas Superstars Camp. He'll then hook up with his Playaz Gold squad for the Playaz Ball, the adidas Super 64 and adidas Best of the Summer Tournament.

We'll have coverage from several of those events during the July evaluation period, so stay tuned for the latest on Costner and other top prospects in the Class of 2005.
