Harvey Lists UCONN Among Favorites

Bryan Harvey lists Connecticut among his top schools

Bryan Harvey isn't shy about rattling off his top three schools.

Harvey, a well-proportioned 6-5, 200-pound swingman from Dominguez H.S. in Compton, Calif., said on Friday night that he's considering UConn, Syracuse and Louisville as his top choices this summer.

"First of all, I've communicated with all of the coaches, and they're all nice guys," Harvey said. "UConn has developed wings that are successful at the next level."

"Reggie Theus is a good guy with NBA experience," he added, alluding to his interest in the Cardinals. "Growing up, I liked Syracuse a lot."

Harvey hasn't yet taken any official or unofficial visits, although he said that he's achieved a qualifying score of 21 on the ACT. As a junior this past season at Dominguez, he averaged 19 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals per game.

At the Reebok ABCD Camp, Harvey struggled with his shot on Friday. He hit just three of 12 attempts, as his Rockets squad dropped to 0-4 at the camp in a pair of losses.

While his athleticism aids him well in going to the basket, Harvey must continue to develop a midrange game. He's one of those all or nothing guys, who is content to launch threes or attack the rim for high percentage shots.

Harvey will attend the Reebok Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas and the Reebok West Tournament in Fullerton. Calif., following ABCD, where he'll play with Pat Barrett's Southern California All-Stars program.

We'll have coverage from the left coast as the July evaluation period continues, so we will keep you posted on Harvey and other top prospects in the Class of 2005 in the weeks to come.
